LWD CAMP FAQS…

  • Let Women Decathlon is a movement that has petitioned to allow women to compete in a Decathlon in the Olympic Games for the first time since men started back in 1912.

The Decathlon crowns the “World’s Greatest Athlete” at The Games, and women have been doing decathlons around the world for over half a century - but never once at the Olympics!

➭ In 1964 it was decided that women could handle doing 5 events.

➭ In 1984 it was decided that women could handle doing 7 events.

➭ Today, in 2023, women are still only allowed to do the 7! We believe they are capable of 10 at The Olympic Games!

For more information about LWD, please visit our website here.

  • $250 for ELEMENTARY + MIDDLE SCHOOL ATHLETES ($300 FOR VIP)

$300 for HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETES ($350 FOR VIP)

HEAVEN TO THE YEAH IS A 501(C)(3) ORGANIZATION. 100% OF YOUR LWD CAMP REGISTRATION FEE IS A CHARITABLE DONATION AND TAX DEDUCTIBLE. PLEASE VISIT OUR DONATE PAGE FOR MORE INFORMATION ON OUR NON-PROFIT STATUS.

  • ➭ Elementary & Middle School: 1st Grade - 8th Grade.

    ➭ High School: 9th Grade -12th Grade.

Please base your child’s age off of the grade they just completed. This is to ensure that we do not have kids coming straight out of Kindergarten in an organized sports environment they are not accustomed to. We also want to avoid having students in our high school camp who are not familiar with competing at a high school level.

The ONLY exception we will consider is if your 8th grade athlete has already competed at the high school level. You may be asked to submit rosters, mile-split, or meet results as proof for the exception.

  • Absolutely! This camp is in honor of “Let Women Decathlon” to bring more awareness to the movement and to let kids try the decathlon - an event many young athletes never get to try!

The reason that Let Women Decathlon exists is because decision makers chose to exclude women from the competition. We strive to be inclusive of everyone, and welcome boys to attend!

  • IN ORDER TO PROVIDE THE LEVEL OF TRAINING AND ONE-ON-ONE ATTENTION WE SEEK TO PROVIDE OUR ATHLETES, REGISTRATION IS VERY LIMITED TO ONLY 25 ELEMENTARY / MIDDLE SCHOOL ATHLETES AND 25 HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETES.

BECAUSE SPACES ARE SO LIMITED, WE ENCOURAGE YOU TO REGISTER YOUR ATHLETES EARLY! CLICK HERE TO REGISTER NOW.

IN THE EVENT WE’VE ALREADY REACHED CAPACITY, PLEASE CONTACT US HERE TO GET ON OUR WAITLIST.

  • ➭ Snacks and Water.

Please make sure your athlete brings a full water bottle and some small snacks. We will have water at the track to refill as the day goes on.

    ➭ Sun Screen.

We suggest your athlete is wearing/brings sunscreen because they will be outside the whole time. An umbrella is also an excellent idea for keeping the sun off.

    ➭ Good Tennis Shoes.

If your athlete has event spikes/shoes it is recommended that they bring them, although this is not required.

Do NOT worry about bringing your own shot puts, discus, javelins, or poles unless your athlete has them and specifically wants to use them.

  • Nope!

  • Yes. We will not permit an elementary or middle school athlete to leave unless an authorized person signs them out. Authorized persons will be asked to present a driver’s license or another form of government-issued photo ID at time of sign-out.

  • Yes, but please keep in mind that three of the ten events include jumping, and one of the runs is a hurdle race.

We will do everything we can to make sure your athlete has fun and feels included. While a wheelchair athlete shouldn’t have trouble participating in the majority of our events, please do take everything into consideration before signing up.

If you have additional questions, please email us here!

  • Athletes are not required to participate in all 10 events, however, we do encourage everyone to try each event at least once.

  • Absolutely! We suggest you bring a folding camp chair to carry with you to the different events throughout the day.

  • Yes, you can! However, we ask that you refrain from asking questions until downtime during events, or after camp is over. Our athletes are our priority and we want to ensure they have our full attention.

  • Yes, if they are listed on your registration form as an authorized form of transportation and can present a government-issued photo ID at the time of sign-out.
